Industry Relationships

The question is often and inevitably asked "are you sponsored by...." and my answer is no. I have no contract, no brand imposed expectations, and no restrictions upon what I ride and recommend. I think that I'm exceptionally brand loyal though. I only want to ride the absolute best gear and once I've found it I don't quickly stray.

I do, commonly, get deals on gear and extended demos. That's been great, because I do like to write and share my experiences but do not have unlimited funds to buy gear. With that, I have upheld a firm professional boundary that I have never accepted any discount or item in exchange for a sales article or promotional content. I don't do that because I don't want to be in sales. I'm an educator. I want whatever I'm writing about to be the gear I believe in for myself and the content to be educational and useful for others.

My Masters Degree is in Experiential Education. I have a passion for research, mentorship, and sharing my experiences for the benefit of others. I hope you find the articles I write lead you towards more adventurous days on the water.
